Marc Shafer ’75

P’08, ’15, ’17, Emeriti Co-Lead

Growing up in Hartford, Marc Shafer is a member of the Kingswood Oxford Class of 1975, generally considered to be the greatest class in KO history. In 1980, Marc got his start with the Dun and Bradstreet Corporation in their semiconductor research division, which provided him with international business experience from start-ups to Fortune 100 entities. Ultimately, this led to a career as an entrepreneur where he led large geographically dispersed organizations, delivered outstanding sales, customer service, and support services, and combined analytical abilities with “real-world” operational management experience to meet company, employee, and client objectives. Marc has taken positions in diverse fields such as warehousing, logistics, waste management, concrete, restaurants, and even fight management.

Marc is a Trinity College graduate and lives in West Hartford with his wife, Laura ’75. Their three children – daughter Jane ’17 and sons Andrew ’08 and David ’15 – are all KO grads. Laura and Marc are extraordinary volunteers in the community and ambassadors for KO; jointly receiving the distinguished alumni award in 2009
